Vulcan, Nitron and QPrep, our Automated Sample Preparation and Digestion Systems are designed for Automated Handling of harmful liquids for digestions, dilutions, and additions with lab precision and purity. Our Automated Digestion system does multiple and independent liquid transfers under computer control and are the ideal Workstations for automated digestions without metals contamination.
Full automation can require any combination of several steps, including the addition of several different digestion reagents, usually acids; heating for a specific amount of time at a precise temperature; changing the digestion temperature; allowing samples to cool; and refilling to a specified volume. Adding in the need to control fumes and off-gassing in the digestion area makes automation complicated procedure. It also reduce solvent usage and hazardous waste generation.

What does it do? Our Nitron does High-Temperature Automated Sample Digestion and Dispensing for laboratories. It is designed for routine and customizable methods that require heating up to 400°C. Hence it is ideal for automating applications involving acids like sulphuric and phosphoric acid. The six independent reagent lines reduce priming operations, thus increasing dispensing speed and minimizing cross contamination. Nitron has an all-plastic fume hood, thus providing a safe environment by reducing user contact with harmful acid fumes and hot samples.

Vulcan Automated Digestion Vulcan is the first automated workstation to combine the two essential steps of sample preparation; digestions and aliquot transfer. ULPA Filtration Unit & Fume Scrubbing The removal of acidic fumes presents a blanket of incoming air which passes directly overtop the samples bringing in a micro-sized contaminant; particulate matter. The addition of a ULPA filtration unit eliminates this issue.
